FEES & PROJECT BRIEFS
Clear fees.
From your first brief.
Most initial project briefs can be prepared remotely from your drawings, photographs, measurements and a discussion of your aims. We agree the information needed, the scope and the fee before you instruct us.
Your initial project brief ↓
START WITH THE INFORMATION
A useful brief.
A clear plan for next steps.
Your initial planning advice brief records the proposed work, known constraints, identified risks, assumptions and information still to confirm. It sets out practical options, the decisions needed and a detailed sequence of next steps.
Site attendance is usually unnecessary for this initial brief. Where an identified risk or information gap prevents reliable advice on a particular issue, we explain the targeted measurements, investigation, site visit or specialist input needed before that issue can be resolved.
Where design is required, the brief records practical options and buildability considerations for the designer or engineer to assess and develop. Comparing proportionate solutions early helps avoid unnecessary specification, repeated calculations, redesign and changes to builders’ prices.
Making unknown conditions and options visible gives independent builders and trades a clearer basis for their quotations and planned checks. This helps reduce the risk of unexpected costs, overruns and disputes; it cannot establish concealed conditions or guarantee the outcome. The brief does not replace required investigations, design, engineering calculations or approvals.
LINKNFORM provides advisory support. Physical construction is carried out by independent builders and trades.
WHERE FURTHER INFORMATION IS NEEDED
Targeted site visits and surveys.
A visit or survey is recommended where a specific risk or information gap needs on-site evidence. Its purpose, provider, outputs and separate fee are agreed before booking. It is not an automatic first step or a free builder’s quotation visit.
